Sniptool is a simplified screenshot tool that quickly takes a picture of whatever is on your desktop. Windows inherently has this feature, but it takes several steps to use. Sniptool makes this much faster and comes with a few extra features to enhance your screenshot images. If you're tired of going through the steps whenever you want to take a screenshot, then you'll love Sniptool.
Primary Feature
Sniptool's primary feature is to help you take screenshots faster than ever. Windows can already do this, but you have to click the PrtScn button, open a graphic design program, use the paste function and then you have the screenshot. Sniptool just requires you to click one button and that's it.
If you take many screenshots for projects or anything else, then you'll quickly see how much time and effort Sniptool can save you. You can save the image anywhere you want on your hard drive and there are some additional features to enhance the image.
Additional Features
Along with taking faster screenshots, Sniptool has a few additional tools. There are labeling tools so that you can label different parts of the image. There are also drawing tools and blur tools to edit or change the screenshot. There are even tools for highlighting certain sections or using a pencil tool to write or draw in small sections.
While not a fully-functional graphics design program, these tools enhance the native screenshot feature found in Windows and allows you to edit the image you take.
Incredibly Lightweight
Sniptool is a very lightweight tool with almost no footprint. Unless your hard drive is so cluttered that you don't have any room left, you'll have no issue downloading Sniptool. This type of software usually installs very quickly, but Sniptool doesn't need to be installed. You can entirely skip this step and just use the program as soon as you download it.
It's a small benefit, but it's still a benefit nonetheless. This makes the program even faster and makes it easier to remove if you don't need it anymore.
Layout
There are good and bad aspects when it comes to the layout. One of the best things is that the layout is uncluttered and it's easy to find any tool you want to use. The tools are represented by graphics and you should have no problem deciphering which tool is which. It's a utilitarian design that ensures you aren't endlessly searching through menus to find the right tool.
At the same time, the layout looks bare and outdated. The icons look like they were made years ago and there is a lot of unused white space. This may not be entirely surprising for a small tool like this, but it's still worth bringing up.
